Empathy is Way Better Than Shade

It’s pretty tough these days to spend more than ten minutes online without seeing something about the KarJenners.

Like many other people, I ultimately found this pretty annoying, although at one point, I loved watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians when I was on the elliptical at the gym. I don’t really know why. I guess it was just good butt-motivation.

But(t) as time went on, and they were like everywhere, I got tired of seeing their luxury rears plastered all over the place.

And, of course, Kim’s “just get your ass up and work” comment more than rubbed me the wrong way.

Well situated in my low-income world, having experienced the worst when it came to the job market, I found her remarks not only out of touch but cruel as well.

Something started shifting in me, though, and soon I found myself feeling sorry for some of the things that they were going through. That whole Kanye mess was outright scary.

Then one evening, my younger daughter had been watching some old episodes on her laptop and I wound up fully engrossed.

We switched it over to the big TV, and now it has totally become our guilty pleasure show.

But more than that, it made me question why I had previously been so annoyed by them.

Sure, there are the obvious reasons — people are tired of seeing rich, privileged people get famous for nothing.
