There IS Hope for Widows!
The most hopeless I have ever felt was seconds after I discovered my now late husband lifeless one dreary February afternoon in 2018.
Aside from all the other horrors that sudden widowhood threw at me, a particularly jagged little pill was the loss of hope.
Hope has always been my drug of choice; daydreams and goals provided much of my personal motivation throughout the years.
Having no hope, zero hope, was beyond daunting.
I don’t know exactly when the trickle of optimism first started coming back to me, but what’s important is that it did.
Something that helped me truly believe that hope was not truly gone forever was discovering multiple helpful online support organizations.
One such organization was the Hope For Widows Foundation and their presence in my world has only brought about positive changes.
Hope For Widows is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to helping widows navigate the overwhelming world of losing a spouse.
They have an award winning blog, of which I’m honored to be a contributor. They offer many services for new and veteran widows, as well as a steadfast support community, which is so very important for widows to have.
If you or someone you care about is widowed, please consider pointing them in the direction of Hope For Widows.
Losing hope can be a life threatening place to find yourself — my own late husband took his own…
